My son struggles to focus sometimes. It’s challenging to watch him get down on himself for getting constantly distracted. I know he wants to focus, but sometimes he just needs a little help. Whether you or someone you love struggles with focus, memory, or even mental energy, I know something in this blog will help.
There was a time when I’d consider pharmaceutical drugs to help with these issues, but I’m thankful I now that know safe, effective, natural solutions for all these mental struggles. In this blog, I’m going to look at memory, focus, and mental energy, and I’ll share simple solutions for each situation. I’ll share some natural products I love and I’ll share some simple, free exercises you can do.

What I do for MEMORY
I’ve learned that memory is a muscle. It needs to be exercised and strengthened regularly to grow. Memorizing a poem or learning a language can be great practice.
That said, your body also needs to be in good health to support that growth. Getting good sleep and balancing your Omegas will help support your brain.
Another effective way to support memory is to use Spanish Sage essential oil. By deeply inhaling it or by diffusing it around you, you can get natural memory support whenever you need it.
What I do for FOCUS
It’s hard to do anything when you can’t focus. It makes tasks that should be easy just take forever. It makes life just feel overwhelming. Thankfully, there are simple habits and products we can use to help.
Focus, like memory, also needs to be worked out for it to get stronger. If you’re able to meditate, that is a great way to train your focus.
There are many types of meditations, and some of them can even be active. A simple walking meditation or a guided meditation can be great places to start, and you’ll notice the improvement in your focus within a few weeks.
For kids, I recommend a ‘sit spot’. Have a nice place for them to sit down for 10-15 mins (or start at 5 and work up). A lovely spot like a forest or garden can be very grounding and interesting. Have them pay attention to the sights, sounds, and smells during that time. After, you can share what you noticed together.
There are also natural products which I use to support my focus. I love using doTERRA’s Vetiver Touch or InTune Focus blend. Both of them come in roller bottles so I just roll them on my forehead and on the back of my neck.
What I do for ENERGY
Without energy, we literally can’t do anything. I know what it’s like to be over-exhausted after mental or physical work. We often gravitate to stimulants like caffeine or sugar, but that only delays the energy crash and makes it worse later.
For me, sleep and diet are massive factors for cultivating healthy energy levels.
