Have you ever wished there was a natural botox option? You know, something without poison injected into your face, but that still gives you a plumper, supple look?
That’s what got me hooked on microneedling—a simple treatment to spark the body’s natural collagen production and keep me looking vibrant. It can even be done on the lips!
Collagen is the protein that gives skin its firmness, joints their spring, and hair its strength. As we age, we lose it, and that shows up as wrinkles, sagging skin, or achy joints.
Microneedling is like a wake-up call for your skin, nudging it to make more collagen all on its own. Here’s how I make it work:
- Micro-Magic: I visit a professional with a special microneedling pen to do monthly treatments. The pen rapidly pricks super-fine needles across my face. This creates tiny pinpricks that tell my skin to rebuild collagen and elastin. It’s gentler than it sounds, and wow – does it give good results!
- Radiance Boost: Those pinpricks ramp up blood flow, bringing a fresh, dewy glow to my cheeks and forehead. My skin drinks in nutrients better and looks plumper almost immediately after a session.
- Lasting Strength: Monthly microneedling sessions keep my collagen levels high, so my skin stays tight and my fine lines fade—no harsh chemicals or fillers needed, just my body’s own repair team!
I follow the microneedling treatments (24hrs after treatment) with doTERRA’s after-sun spray (3x/day). Twice a day I spray with the Rose mist and apply both the Immortelle serum and anti-aging moisturizer. With regular microneedling, I am definitely noticing the shift in my skin health.
But there are 2 secrets to get the most out of microneedling.
- Exosomes – if you’ve ever researched microneedling before, you’ve likely heard about exosomes. These are stem cells which rapidly speed recovery time and cause the body to generate new skin cells, giving you a soft, youthful glow. I get my microneedling done by a professional acupuncturist who uses premium exosomes. You can check her out on IG here.
- Hydrolyzed Collagen – your body needs to have access to collagen within itself in order for the microneedling to stimulate production of more collagen for your face. Taking easily absorbable (hydrolyzed) collagen will make this happen. Here’s what I use.
Get the fresh look you want with collagen and microneedling! It’s worked wonders for me as I’ve crossed the 55 mark.
